Common questions
I know nothing about BaZi. Where do I start?
Start with what matters to you right now. Enter your birth details, then describe a recent experience, a concern, or a decision you are considering. You do not need to learn any terminology first.
For example: “I have put a lot into this job, but I feel increasingly unhappy. Should I stay with it or explore a different direction?”
How does BaZi differ from personality tests, horoscopes, or divination?
Your questions may go beyond “What is my personality?” to “Why have these years brought so much change?” or “Is this opportunity right for me?”
Personality tests focus on traits and behavioral tendencies. Common sun-sign horoscopes offer broad descriptions, while a one-off divination reading often addresses a particular question. FateWay draws on BaZi for its traditional approach to considering personal characteristics, relationships, and changes over time together.
We use your chart, traditional ten-year and annual cycles, and the experiences you share to explore work, relationships, and life decisions. You can return to the same chart as your experiences develop, revisit earlier interpretations, and keep asking questions.
Beyond understanding your personality, explore the relationship between your own qualities and timing.
Can I use FateWay if I do not know my birth time?
Yes. Choose “Unknown” when creating your chart, then share important experiences with dates: a year you changed schools, began or ended a relationship, changed jobs, or saw a major change in income. The examples beside the input help you prepare.
FateWay uses these clues to suggest possible birth times for you to review and confirm. These are estimates to investigate, not a substitute for a birth record.
What is free, and when do I need to pay?
Each newly registered user receives one free use. If your birth time is known, this provides a chart report summary. If it is unknown, you can use it to explore your birth time. These are alternative paths using the same allowance, not two separate free uses.
Unlocking the full report and using subsequent paid services requires the credits or membership shown before use. We are a small team, and each AI reading and conversation has a real computing cost, so the free allowance is currently limited.
Will my birth details or conversations be made public?
Ordinary personal conversations are not automatically public. Binding your personal chart does not enroll it in a leaderboard; enrollment is your choice. When you invite someone to a shared compatibility session, both participants can see the relevant shared details, conversation, and report.
Necessary chart information and conversation content are sent to third-party AI services to generate readings. See the Privacy Policy in the footer for details about data use.
Will I need to start over when I return?
You do not need to create your chart again each time. Sign in to the same account to open your saved chart and its conversation, revisit earlier readings, and share what has happened since.
To continue a previous topic, open the original conversation and add any new experiences or changes there.
What is next for FateWay?
With feedback users choose to share, we will keep checking chart calculations, correcting factual errors, and examining differences between interpretations and real experiences. Both useful observations and unsupported or mistaken judgments need scrutiny as we work to improve accuracy and usefulness.
After the necessary research and testing, we plan to gradually introduce Zi Wei Dou Shu and divination for specific questions. Priorities will depend on user needs and test results; availability will be announced in the product.
